I have been isolating myself for 2-3 years since I had to face depression and other challenges. So it’s not a very new thing for me to stay indoors, get bored, and then try to find new productive things to do at home and kill time in a fun and creative way.
But for most people, 2020 has become a year when they have to sit idle, get bored, waste hours, and complain about wasting their hours. They just don’t find what to do productive at home and how to utilize their time.
But what if I tell you that you don’t need to get bored at home because there are many productive things you can do with your time?
Here are 43 fun and productive things to do at home when you feel bored and stressed at home. Start practising at least 2 or 3 of them as per your interest, you would feel your stress levels have lowered.
1. Stay healthy, cook together & practice social distancing
It’s not only the time to isolate ourselves from others but also the time to strengthen our immune systems. Staying healthy is now the responsibility to avoid infecting ourselves as well as others.
Doing the cooking in a fun way would be a great idea! Add a new healthy twist to old recipes and ask your friends to try the same on the same day and share the pictures. It will give you the feeling of eating and cooking together.
For example, cook dry apple veg with less oil and more immunity-boosting herbs in lunch today. Now ask your friends to cook the same at their homes and share the pictures of their lunch.
I tried this with my friends and trust me; it added more fun and taste to our lunch. This fun way of cooking is an amazing and productive thing to do when you’re bored at home. It also reduces stress.

Is there any group of needy children you can make lunches for? Also, don’t ignore stray dogs and animals. Ask if the street sweeper needs money or food. How can you be of help? What ways are the best ways you can follow to help the world?
For example: if there is a neighbour whose family members are not with him/her. You can give moral support. You can at least wave a smile to reduce stress.

If you don’t make journals, try it now. It helps you know yourself better and release painful emotions that are stuck in your body. It is a perfect exercise to distress yourself.
